In conjunction with a grant from CN, the city of Ranier is working with a community beautification group called America in Bloom. America in Bloom promotes nationwide beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements. AIB has a national awards program where it sends judges to the community to evaluate the community under six criteria: floral displays, landscaped areas, urban forestry, environmental efforts, heritage preservation and overall impression.
On Monday 7/10/2017 @ 5:00 pm at the Ranier Community Hall, Mr. Bill Hahn from AIB will be here to give a power point presentation about the program to stakeholders and/or interested parties. Please feel free to invite anyone else that may be interested in this community program or that you feel I may not have included on the list.
Earlier that day, Mr. Hahn will be touring the Ranier town center area and “judging” on the above criteria. After visiting a town, judges write a detailed evaluation highlighting strengths and listing areas for possible improvements. Many communities have stated that they have received greater value from their AIB evaluations than from expensive consulting reports.
Follow this link to the AIB website explaining their program. Please take a little time to peruse the site and look at the benefits other communities have received from being involved in AIB. We are excited for the opportunity to participate in this program and hope that other folks will be too.
Thank you and I hope to see you on Monday!
