Attractive Koochiching County

Destiny Driver

Create A Uniformly Attractive County And A Means To Explore It

“You never get a second chance to make a good first impression” applies not only to individuals but also to Koochiching County and our inter-related communities.  Knowing that first impressions of visitors can only be made once and knowing that pride of place promotes satisfaction with one’s home; Koochiching County will strive towards a shared vision of an attractive environment.  Helping both visitors and residents explore the county will enhance appreciation of its varied assets.

92% of respondents to the Community Survey believe there should be a county-wide beautification plan for our communities.

What might this look like?

  •  Youth, adults and elders engaged in clean-up and beautification efforts throughout the County and its Communities
  • Buy-in by businesses, property owners, government and other stakeholders
  • An attractive, appropriately themed uniform signage system throughout the County that welcomes visitors and highlights our unique heritage, environment, culture and attractions
  • A focal point/kiosk/park in each of Koochiching’s communities that draws attention to that community’s unique features, amenities and attractions

This “Driver” really speaks to “Quality of Place” and relates directly to two other “Destiny Drivers:”

  • Quality of Life
  • Quality Tourist Destination
