After months of gathering, tabulating, combining, and analyzing the data, the results of the Voyage Forward FOUR Questions are available.
The Voyage Forward Stewards started this process last October, right after the “Call to Action” event at Backus. During Jan, Feb, and part of March, the Stewards interviewed over 800 individuals and many, many organizations. The Stewards mission was to ask the FOUR Questions, listen objectively while not questioning the respondent or injecting comments or personal opinions.
We wanted the respondents input, not ours.
Once finished gathering the responses, the Stewards spend many evenings and many, many hours defining categories and drafting themes. As you will quickly see when reviewing the raw data, the task was not easy. Hats off to the Stewards – they did a fantastic job! They are dedicated and passionate about our region.
Whereas the comments provide individual perspective, the categories and themes provide a better understanding of the issues respondents felt important to further discuss and create a vision for the future for our region.
The results of the FOUR Questions should be viewed as the starting point in creating our vision for the future and defining regional and city specific goals or Destiny Drivers. The Public Engagement Team is in the final stages of finishing a region wide survey which will provide a focused direction on our Journey to Success.
We anticipate the survey instrument will be available on the web around June 22nd. For those without a computer or Internet access, the survey will also be available in paper form.
The results of the survey will enable us, as a region, to develop specific goals or “Destiny Drivers” with action plans to make our community the best possible place to live, work, and raise a family.
The Destiny Drivers provide regional, city, and community leadership with the information they need to implement action plans based on community input. Destiny Drivers provide a roadmap for future decisions and implement the changes we as a community want to see.
